Sie ist im Antriebs- (oder Erreger-) Schrank untergebracht und verfügt über Anschlussklemmen für die Mehrheit der externen Signalpegel-Ein-/Ausgänge. Diese Klemmen sind mit passiver Schnittstellen-Schaltung gekoppelt.
