They are known for their ruggedness, reliability, and superior performance in harsh environments, making them ideal for a wide range of applications in machinery condition monitoring.
Here's how Bently Nevada Proximitor Sensors work:
- The sensor uses a coil to generate an electromagnetic field.
- When the probe tip of the sensor comes close to a conductive surface, like the shaft of a rotating machine, eddy currents are induced in the surface.
- The eddy currents create their own electromagnetic field, which opposes the original field from the coil.
- The strength of the opposing field is proportional to the distance between the probe tip and the surface.
- By measuring the strength of the opposing field, the sensor can determine the position of the shaft.
